Systemic Risk & Financial Stability
Co-Pierre Georg is a Senior Lecturer at the African Institute of Financial Markets and Risk Management at the University of Cape Town and a Research Economist at Deutsche Bundesbank. His research focuses on systemic risk and specifically on how interconnectedness of financial intermediaries affects financial stability. Co-Pierre is also the director of the financial innovation lab at the University of Cape Town and studies the effects of blockchain on financial intermediation. He has consulted for various central banks, including the South African Reserve Bank, Banque de France, the Bank of Uganda, and the Banco Central do Brasil.
